Bart is an Electronics Engineer who is recently back in the music industry after taking a 6-year hiatus to work on an MBA at Georgia State and raise 2 daughters.

Originally a concert bassoonist, Bart started studying music at an early age with Robert Thompson at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and later with Richard Lottridge at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. In high school, he added saxophones and flute in order to play with the marching band and jazz ensembles under Nicholas Contorno.

Through the 80’s and 90’s, Bart played sax and flute with various rock-n-roll and R&B groups throughout the Midwest (Milwaukee, Chicago, Madison, Green Bay). During that time, Bart also performed on various recordings and CDs for Blomberg/Mahaffey (Something Like a Star) and Tanner-Monagle Music (TV / radio commercials and recordings for the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Allen Bradley, Roundy’s, etc.).

Formed in 2008, The FlyCats are jazz favorites in north Georgia, specializing in what they call "New York Lounge Jazz" or "Cigar-Club Jazz", performing standards, swing, bop, bossa, a little funk/R&B, etc. and some original compositions.
